Introduction to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Sports Foundation

The Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Sports Foundation (Registered under the Trust Act of the Government of India) is a non-profit, non-government organization with a strong commitment to the advancement of sports, education, research, and youth & social activities. Operating at both the national and international levels, the foundation is driven by the vision to spread the Olympic Movement and Olympism in alignment with the dreams and ideals of Baron Pierre de Coubertin—the founder of the modern Olympic Games.

The foundation takes inspiration from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s advocacy for social justice and equality, channeling those principles into the world of sports. The Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Sports Foundation works tirelessly to build a culture of unity, inclusion, and empowerment through physical activity, education, and social initiatives.

Mission of the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Sports Foundation

  1. Youth Development:
    To promote and encourage the physical, spiritual, social, moral, and cultural education of the youth of the nation. The foundation aims to help young people develop strong character, good health, and good citizenship.

  2. Promotion of Olympism:
    The foundation works to promote Olympism by including both Olympic and non-Olympic sports and games, fostering the values of fairness, teamwork, and excellence.

  3. Social Harmony:
    Through various youth activities and events, the foundation strives to create social harmony and build a friendly, inclusive society, promoting unity across diverse communities.

  4. Ambedkar National Games:
    The foundation organizes and manages the Ambedkar National Games every two years, spreading the message of One Nation Brotherhood through sports. This event serves as a powerful symbol of unity and national pride.

  5. Ambedkar International Games:
    Every four years, the foundation plans, organizes, and manages the Ambedkar International Games, extending the message of global brotherhood and solidarity through the universal language of sports.

  6. Advocacy Against Social Evils:
    The foundation takes an active stand in raising awareness and advocating against social evils such as dowry, female infanticide, discrimination, rape, and other forms of immorality. Through education and outreach, it seeks to create a more just and equitable society.

  7. Jai Bheem Clubs:
    The foundation is dedicated to establishing and managing Jai Bheem Clubs, Sports, and Youth Activity Centers across India. These centers serve as hubs for empowerment, offering a variety of activities and resources to help youth realize their potential.

  8. Fundraising and Sustainability:
    To support its initiatives, the foundation works to generate funding for the Jai Bheem Clubs, as well as for its sports, social, and youth activity programs.

  9. Ambedkar National & International Awards:
    The foundation organizes the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National & International Awards to recognize and honor meritorious athletes, sportspersons, and individuals excelling in various fields. These prestigious awards serve as a platform to inspire excellence and recognize the hard work and dedication of individuals in the sporting community.
